Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Lays of the Covenanters is a collection of poems written by James Dodds. The Covenanters were a group of Scottish Presbyterians who signed the National Covenant in 1638, pledging to defend their religious liberties against the interference of the English Crown. The poems in this book celebrate the Covenanters' struggle for freedom and their steadfast faith in the face of persecution. Dodds' writing is characterized by its vivid imagery and lyrical style, which bring to life the people and events of this tumultuous period in Scottish history. The book is a tribute to the courage and resilience of the Covenanters, and a reminder of the importance of standing up for one's beliefs in the face of adversity. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
