Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""The Confessions Of An Old Almsgiver: Or Three Cheers For The Charity Organization Society"" is a book written by J. Hornsby Wright. The book is an autobiographical account of the author's experiences as an almsgiver and his eventual realization of the shortcomings of traditional charity practices. Wright recounts his journey from a well-meaning but naive giver of alms to a supporter of the Charity Organization Society, which aimed to provide more effective and sustainable aid to the needy. The book is a critique of the traditional methods of charity that often perpetuate poverty and dependency, and a call to action for more thoughtful and effective approaches to helping those in need. Through his own experiences and observations, Wright provides a compelling argument for the importance of organized, strategic, and evidence-based charity work. The book is an insightful and thought-provoking read for anyone interested in social justice, poverty alleviation, and the role of charity in society. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
