Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The book ""Narrative Of The Fenian Invasion Of Canada"" by Alexander Somerville is a historical account of the Fenian raids that took place in Canada in the late 19th century. The Fenian Brotherhood was an Irish nationalist organization that sought to liberate Ireland from British rule. In 1866, the Fenians launched a series of attacks on Canada, hoping to use it as a bargaining chip to gain Irish independence.Somerville, a journalist and historian, was an eyewitness to the Fenian invasion and wrote this book to provide a detailed account of the events that took place. He describes the various battles and skirmishes that occurred during the raids, as well as the political and military strategies employed by both the Fenians and the Canadian authorities. The book also provides insights into the social and economic conditions of Canada at the time, as well as the attitudes of the Canadian people towards the Fenians and their cause. Somerville's narrative is both informative and engaging, providing a vivid picture of a little-known chapter in Canadian and Irish history.Overall, ""Narrative Of The Fenian Invasion Of Canada"" is an important historical document that sheds light on a fascinating and complex period in North American and European history. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of Canada, Ireland, or the Fenian Brotherhood. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
