From there, the feather is carried by a dog to a field, where it is used as a toy before being lost in a stream. It is then found by a fisherman and used as a fishing lure, before being swallowed by a fish and eventually ending up back in the garden where it began. Throughout its journey, the feather encounters a variety of characters and situations, each of which highlights the different ways in which it can be used and valued.
