Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""A Collection Of Examples Illustrating The Metrical Licenses Of Vergil"" is a book written by Harold Whetstone Johnston and published in 1897. The book examines the Latin poet Vergil's use of metrical licenses in his works, specifically in the Aeneid. Metrical licenses are deviations from the strict rules of meter in poetry, and Johnston provides numerous examples from Vergil's works to illustrate these deviations. The book is intended for students of Latin and poetry, and provides a thorough analysis of Vergil's use of meter and its effect on the meaning of his poetry. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the study of classical poetry and the art of metrical composition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
