Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""A Journal of the Late and Important Blockade and Siege of Gibraltar"" is a historical account of the events that took place during the four-year-long siege of Gibraltar, from September 1779 to February 1783. The book was written by Samuel Ancell, who was an officer in the British Army during the siege. The book provides a detailed chronicle of the siege, including the strategies and tactics used by both the British and the Spanish forces. It also includes descriptions of the battles, the living conditions of the soldiers, and the impact of the siege on the civilians living in Gibraltar. Ancell's account is considered to be one of the most comprehensive and accurate records of the siege, as he was present for the entire duration of the conflict. The book was published in 1786, just three years after the siege ended, and provides valuable insights into the military tactics and strategies of the time. Overall, ""A Journal of the Late and Important Blockade and Siege of Gibraltar"" is a fascinating historical document that provides a unique perspective on one of the most significant military conflicts of the 18th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
