Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A Memoir of Granville Sharp is a biographical work written by Charles Stuart and published in 1836. The book tells the story of Granville Sharp, an English abolitionist and philanthropist who played a key role in the abolition of the slave trade in the British Empire. The memoir begins with Sharp's early life, including his upbringing in Durham and his education at St. John's College, Cambridge. It then goes on to detail his early career as a civil servant, during which time he became involved in the anti-slavery movement. The book explores Sharp's tireless efforts to end slavery, including his involvement in several high-profile legal cases and his advocacy for the rights of enslaved people. It also delves into his personal life, including his relationships with his family and his religious beliefs.Throughout the memoir, Stuart paints a vivid picture of Sharp's character, describing him as a man of great integrity, compassion, and determination. The book is a fascinating account of one of the most important figures in the fight against slavery, and a testament to the power of individual action in the face of injustice. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
