Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Andree's Balloon Expedition In Search Of The North Pole is a historical account of the ill-fated attempt by Swedish explorer S.A. Andre to reach the North Pole by balloon in 1897. The book is written by Henri Lachambre, a French aeronaut who was part of the expedition. The book details the preparations and planning leading up to the launch, the challenges faced during the journey, and the tragic outcome. The expedition was plagued by technical difficulties, bad weather, and poor communication, ultimately leading to the balloon crashing on the icy terrain of the Arctic. The book includes photographs and illustrations of the expedition, as well as diary entries and personal accounts from the members of the team. It is a fascinating and tragic account of one of the most audacious attempts at exploration in history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
