Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""Arthur Gordon Pym: A Romance"" is a novel written by Edgar Allan Poe and published posthumously in 1898. The book follows the adventures of the titular character, Arthur Gordon Pym, as he sets sail on a whaling ship called the Grampus. Along with his friend, Augustus Barnard, Pym experiences a series of harrowing and bizarre events while at sea, including mutiny, shipwreck, and encounters with cannibals and a mysterious white figure. As Pym and Barnard struggle to survive, they also uncover strange and unsettling secrets about the crew and the ship itself. The novel is notable for its vivid descriptions of the sea and its dangers, as well as its exploration of themes such as isolation, madness, and the limits of human endurance. Despite its publication after Poe's death, ""Arthur Gordon Pym"" is considered a significant work in his oeuvre and has been influential on later writers such as Jules Verne and H.P. Lovecraft. It remains a classic of 19th-century American literature and a testament to Poe's unique and imaginative storytelling. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
