Calvinism In History is a book written by Nathaniel S. McFetridge in 1882 that provides a comprehensive overview of the history and development of Calvinism, a branch of Protestantism that originated in the teachings of John Calvin during the Reformation era. The book begins with a brief introduction to the life and work of John Calvin, followed by a discussion of the key tenets of Calvinism, including predestination, election, and the sovereignty of God. McFetridge then traces the history of Calvinism from its origins in Geneva to its spread throughout Europe and the Americas, examining the impact of Calvinism on politics, culture, and society. The book also includes a detailed analysis of the various controversies and debates that have arisen within the Calvinist tradition over the years, including disputes over the nature of predestination and the role of the church in society.
