Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Citizenship and Salvation or Greek and Jew: A Study in the Philosophy of History is a book written by Alfred Henry Lloyd and published in 1897. It is a philosophical study of the historical development of citizenship and salvation in ancient Greece and Judaism. The book explores the different approaches to citizenship and salvation in these two cultures, and how they have influenced the development of Western civilization. Lloyd argues that the Greek concept of citizenship was based on individualism and the pursuit of excellence, while the Jewish concept of salvation was based on community and the pursuit of righteousness. The book also examines the influence of Christianity on these concepts, and how it has shaped our modern understanding of citizenship and salvation. Overall, Citizenship and Salvation or Greek and Jew offers a thought-provoking analysis of the philosophical underpinnings of Western civilization. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
