Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Civilized Christianity is a response to the modern Christianity that was emerging in the late 1800s. Written by an anonymous author, the book argues that the new form of Christianity was too focused on individualism and personal salvation, and had lost sight of the broader social and cultural implications of the faith. The author contends that Christianity should be a force for civilization and progress, and that it should be engaged in the world, rather than retreating from it. The book also critiques the concept of orthodoxy, arguing that it is too rigid and dogmatic, and that it stifles intellectual inquiry and debate. The author offers a series of reflections on these topics, drawing on a range of sources from philosophy, literature, and theology. Overall, Civilized Christianity is a thought-provoking and challenging work that raises important questions about the role of religion in society. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
