Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Eight Hours For Work is a book written by John Rae and published in 1894. The book explores the history of the eight-hour workday movement, which aimed to reduce the number of hours worked per day from the standard ten or twelve to just eight. Rae examines the economic and social implications of this movement, as well as the political and cultural factors that influenced it. He also discusses the various strategies and tactics employed by workers and labor unions in their efforts to achieve this goal, including strikes, boycotts, and political lobbying. Throughout the book, Rae argues that the eight-hour workday is not only a matter of fairness and justice for workers, but also a crucial step towards a more equitable and democratic society. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of labor and workers' rights, as well as the ongoing struggle for a better, more just world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
