Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Fallen Leaves is a novel written by Carolyn B. Lyman and first published in 1913. The story revolves around the life of a young woman named Margaret Trevor, who is born into a wealthy family in New York City. Margaret is a talented artist, but her passion for painting is stifled by her overbearing and controlling mother. Margaret's life takes a dramatic turn when she falls in love with a struggling artist named David Lawrence. Despite her mother's disapproval, Margaret marries David and moves to Paris with him to pursue her art career. However, their happiness is short-lived when David falls ill and dies, leaving Margaret alone and penniless in a foreign country. The novel explores themes of love, loss, and the struggle for artistic expression in a society that values wealth and status over creativity. Through Margaret's journey, the author offers a poignant commentary on the limitations placed on women's lives in the early 20th century. Overall, Fallen Leaves is a compelling and thought-provoking novel that offers a glimpse into the challenges faced by women artists in the early 1900s.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
