Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The German Influence On Samuel Taylor Coleridge is a book written by John Louis Haney and originally published in 1902. The book explores the impact of German philosophy, literature, and culture on the works of the English poet and philosopher Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Haney examines Coleridge's engagement with German thinkers such as Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Schiller, and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and argues that their ideas played a significant role in shaping Coleridge's own philosophical and literary views. The book is divided into chapters that focus on specific aspects of Coleridge's work, including his poetry, his literary criticism, and his philosophical writings. Haney's analysis is based on close readings of Coleridge's texts as well as on his knowledge of German philosophy and literature. The German Influence On Samuel Taylor Coleridge is an important contribution to the study of Coleridge's work and to the history of literary and philosophical exchange between England and Germany in the 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
