Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Isabeau: A Dramatic Legend, In Three Acts (1917) by Luigi Illica is a play that tells the story of Isabeau, the daughter of the King of France, who is cursed by a fairy to be invisible to all men until a brave knight falls in love with her. The play is set in medieval France and explores themes of love, duty, and honor. Isabeau's father, the King, is determined to find a husband for her, but she is reluctant to marry anyone who does not truly love her. When she meets the handsome knight, Folco, she believes that he is the one who can break the curse and see her for who she truly is. However, their love is threatened by political intrigue and the machinations of the King's advisor, who seeks to use Isabeau's curse for his own gain. The play builds to a dramatic conclusion as Isabeau and Folco fight for their love and their freedom. Illica's play is a lyrical and romantic work that has been praised for its beautiful language and powerful emotions. It remains a classic of Italian theater and is still performed today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
