Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""The Shipyard of the Griffon"" is a historical account of the building of a brigantine named the Griffon by French explorer Rene Robert Cavelier in 1679. Written by Cyrus Kingsbury Remington in 1891, the book details the challenges and triumphs of constructing the ship in the wilderness of the Great Lakes region, as well as Cavelier's motivations for undertaking such a project. The Griffon was the first European-style sailing vessel to be built and sail on the Great Lakes, and its fate remains a mystery as it disappeared on its maiden voyage. The book includes illustrations and maps to provide a visual representation of the shipyard and the surrounding area.
