Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Songs of the Rail is a collection of poems written by Alexander Anderson and published in 1881. The poems are inspired by the author's experiences traveling on trains throughout England and Scotland. The book includes 44 poems, each one highlighting a different aspect of train travel and the railway industry. The poems are written in a lyrical style and often feature vivid descriptions of the landscapes and people seen from the train window. Some of the poems are nostalgic, evoking a sense of the past and the changing world around the author. Others are more celebratory, praising the speed and efficiency of trains and the sense of adventure they bring. Overall, Songs of the Rail is a charming and insightful look at the early days of train travel in the United Kingdom, written by a poet who clearly had a deep affection for the railways and the people who worked on them. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
