Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Sligo and the Enniskilleners: From 1688-1691 is a historical account of the conflict between the Protestants and Catholics in Ireland during the late 17th century. The book focuses on the town of Sligo and the Enniskillen regiment, which was made up of Protestant volunteers who fought against the Catholic forces of King James II. Written by William Gregory Wood-Martin and originally published in 1880, the book provides a detailed overview of the events that took place between 1688 and 1691, including the Battle of the Boyne and the Siege of Derry. Wood-Martin also delves into the social and political context of the time, exploring the tensions between the different religious groups and the impact of the conflict on the people of Sligo. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in Irish history, particularly the period of the Williamite War in Ireland. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
