Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

My Life With Stanley's Rear Guard is a memoir written by Herbert Ward, an English artist and explorer who accompanied the famous explorer Henry Morton Stanley on his expedition to rescue Emin Pasha in Africa in the late 19th century. The book details Ward's experiences as part of the rear guard of the expedition, which was responsible for carrying supplies and protecting the group from attacks by hostile tribes. Ward describes the harsh conditions of the journey, including the difficult terrain, dangerous animals, and the constant threat of attack. He also provides insights into the personalities of Stanley and his fellow explorers, as well as the local people they encountered along the way. The book offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of African exploration during a time of great change and upheaval. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
