Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Some Unconventional People is a book written by Mrs. John Beveridge Gladwyn Jebb and published in 1895. It is a collection of short stories that depict unconventional characters who challenge societal norms and conventions. The stories are set in different time periods and locations, ranging from ancient Greece to contemporary England. The characters in the book are diverse and include a woman who defies societal expectations by pursuing a career in medicine, a man who chooses to live a simple life in the countryside instead of pursuing wealth and status, and a group of friends who reject the traditional gender roles assigned to them. Through these stories, Jebb explores themes such as individualism, ambition, and the tension between conformity and nonconformity. She also critiques the rigid social structures that limit people's potential and prevent them from living fulfilling lives. Overall, Some Unconventional People is a thought-provoking and engaging work of fiction that challenges readers to question their own beliefs and assumptions about what it means to be conventional or unconventional. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
