Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Rock Cleavage is a novel written by Charles Kenneth Leith and first published in 1905. The story is set in the late 19th century and follows the life of a young girl named Nelly, who grows up in a small coastal village in Scotland. Nelly is the daughter of a fisherman and spends her days helping her father and playing with her childhood friend, Jamie. As Nelly grows older, she becomes increasingly aware of the differences between her and Jamie. While she is content with her simple life, Jamie dreams of leaving the village and making something of himself. Nelly's world is turned upside down when she meets a wealthy young man named Ronald, who is visiting the village on holiday. Despite their different backgrounds, Nelly and Ronald fall in love and begin a secret relationship. As their relationship deepens, Nelly is forced to confront the realities of her situation. She knows that her father would never approve of her relationship with Ronald, and that their social differences make it unlikely that they will ever be able to be together. Nelly is torn between her love for Ronald and her loyalty to her family and her community.Rock Cleavage is a poignant and thought-provoking novel that explores themes of class, love, and loyalty. Leith's vivid descriptions of life in a small Scottish village bring the story to life, and his nuanced portrayal of Nelly's inner struggles make her a compelling and relatable protagonist.
