Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""Knights of Today: Or Love and Science"" is a novel written by Charles Barnard and published in 1881. The story follows the lives of two young men, Frank and Harry, who are both in love with the same woman, Edith. However, their pursuit of her love is complicated by their differing beliefs in the value of science versus love and chivalry.Frank is a scientist who believes that love is a chemical reaction and that the pursuit of knowledge is the highest calling. Harry, on the other hand, is a romantic who believes in the power of love and chivalry. Edith is torn between the two men and their conflicting views. As the story unfolds, the three characters navigate their relationships and their beliefs, ultimately coming to a resolution that emphasizes the importance of both science and love in modern society. The novel is a reflection of the changing attitudes towards science and romance in the late 19th century. It explores the tension between the pursuit of knowledge and the pursuit of love, and ultimately advocates for a balance between the two. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
