Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Revelations Of Prison Life V2: With An Enquiry Into Prison Discipline And Secondary Punishments (1856) is a book written by George Laval Chesterton. The book is a detailed account of the author's experiences as a prisoner in England during the mid-19th century. Chesterton provides a vivid description of the harsh conditions of prison life, including the overcrowding, poor sanitation, and lack of basic necessities such as food and clothing. In addition to his personal experiences, Chesterton also provides an in-depth analysis of the prison system and the use of secondary punishments, such as solitary confinement and hard labor. He argues that these punishments are often cruel and ineffective, and that a more humane and rehabilitative approach is needed to address the root causes of crime.Overall, Revelations Of Prison Life V2 provides a unique and insightful perspective on the realities of prison life in the 19th century, and offers valuable insights into the ongoing debate over prison reform and criminal justice today. In Two Volumes. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
