Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

John Robinson, The Pilgrim Pastor is a biographical book written by Ozora Stearns Davis in 1903. The book is about the life of John Robinson, who was a pastor and a leader of the Pilgrims. Robinson was born in 1575 in England and became a pastor in the Church of England. He later joined a group of Separatists who believed in separating from the Church of England and forming their own churches. Robinson became the leader of this group and helped them to emigrate to Holland, where they could worship freely. In Holland, Robinson continued to lead the Separatists and helped them to establish a successful community. He also wrote many books and sermons that helped to shape the beliefs of the Pilgrims. In 1620, Robinson was unable to join the Pilgrims on their journey to America, but he continued to support them from afar. The book provides a detailed account of Robinson's life and his contributions to the Pilgrim movement. It also explores the religious and political context of the time, including the persecution of Separatists in England and the challenges faced by the Pilgrims in America. Overall, John Robinson, The Pilgrim Pastor is a fascinating and informative read for anyone interested in the history of the Pilgrims and the early years of America. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
