Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Social Justice: A Critical Essay is a book written by Westel Woodbury Willoughby in the year 1900. The book presents a critical analysis of the concept of social justice, which is defined as the fair and equitable distribution of resources and opportunities in a society. Willoughby argues that social justice is an important principle that should guide the actions of individuals and institutions in society. He also examines the various theories of social justice that have been proposed by philosophers and political theorists throughout history. The book is divided into three parts. The first part provides an overview of the concept of social justice and its historical development. The second part examines the various theories of social justice, including utilitarianism, socialism, and individualism. Willoughby evaluates these theories and argues that none of them provide a complete solution to the problem of social justice. In the third part of the book, Willoughby proposes his own theory of social justice. He argues that social justice should be based on the principles of equality and opportunity. He believes that individuals should be given equal access to resources and opportunities, regardless of their social status or background. Willoughby also emphasizes the importance of education and social reform in achieving social justice.Overall, Social Justice: A Critical Essay is a thought-provoking book that challenges readers to think critically about the concept of social justice and its role in society. The book is still relevant today, as debates about social justice continue to shape political and social discourse. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
