Speeches, Messages, and Other Writings of Albert G. Brown: A Senator in Congress from the State of Mississippi (1859) is a collection of speeches and writings by Albert Gallatin Brown, a senator from Mississippi during the mid-19th century. The book contains a variety of speeches, messages, and other writings that Brown delivered during his time in Congress, covering a range of topics including slavery, states' rights, and the role of the federal government. Brown was known for his staunch defense of slavery and his belief in the supremacy of the states over the federal government, and his speeches and writings reflect these views. This book provides a valuable insight into the political and social climate of the United States during the years leading up to the Civil War, and sheds light on the perspectives of those who supported slavery and states' rights. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
