Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Irish Tutor Or New Lights: A Farce, In One Act (1847) is a play written by Richard Butler. The story is set in Ireland and revolves around the character of an Irish tutor who is hired to teach a wealthy family's children. The tutor, who is portrayed as being extremely proud of his Irish heritage, clashes with the family's English butler, who is equally proud of his English heritage. The two characters engage in a series of comical arguments and debates about their respective cultures and beliefs. The play is a satire on the cultural and political tensions between Ireland and England during the 19th century. It also explores themes of identity, nationalism, and the clash of cultures. The Irish Tutor Or New Lights: A Farce, In One Act is a humorous and entertaining play that provides insight into the social and political climate of Ireland during the mid-19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
