Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The String of Beads for the Romanisers is a book written by Peter Placet in 1844. The book is a critique of the Roman Catholic Church and its practices, particularly the use of beads in prayer, which Placet argues are contrary to the teachings of the Bible. Placet was a Protestant minister who wrote this book in response to the growing trend of Anglicans converting to Catholicism, known as ""Romanisers."" The book examines the history of the use of beads in prayer, the theology behind it, and the reasons why it should not be adopted by Protestants. Placet argues that the use of beads is a form of idolatry and that it undermines the true nature of prayer, which should be a direct communication between the individual and God. The String of Beads for the Romanisers is an important historical document that sheds light on the religious debates of the mid-19th century and the tensions between Protestants and Catholics. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
