Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Cark of Coin is a novel written by Harry Lindsay and published in 1903. The story is set in London during the late 19th century and follows the life of a young man named Eric Chalmers. Eric is a struggling artist who is trying to make a name for himself in the art world, but finds himself constantly hindered by his lack of money and social status. As the story progresses, Eric becomes involved with a group of wealthy individuals who are involved in a secret society known as The Cark of Coin. The society is dedicated to accumulating wealth and power at any cost, and Eric soon finds himself drawn into their world. As Eric becomes more involved with The Cark of Coin, he begins to question the morality of their actions and struggles to reconcile his own artistic ideals with their ruthless pursuit of wealth. Along the way, he also falls in love with a young woman named Dora, who becomes embroiled in the society's machinations. The Cark of Coin is a gripping tale of greed, power, and morality, set against the backdrop of Victorian London. It explores themes of art, wealth, and the corrupting influence of money, and offers a thought-provoking commentary on the social and economic conditions of the time. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
