Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Gospel of Jesus and the Problems of Democracy is a book written by Henry Clay Vedder in 1914. The book focuses on the intersection of Christianity and democracy, exploring the ways in which the teachings of Jesus can inform and shape democratic societies. Vedder argues that democracy, while a valuable political system, can be flawed and imperfect without the moral guidance of Christianity. Through a careful analysis of biblical texts and historical events, Vedder shows how Jesus' teachings on love, justice, and equality can provide a foundation for democratic values and principles. He also discusses the challenges and limitations of democracy, including the dangers of mob rule and the need for strong leadership. Ultimately, Vedder argues that a truly democratic society must be grounded in the moral teachings of Jesus, and that Christianity has an important role to play in shaping the future of democracy. The Gospel of Jesus and the Problems of Democracy is a thought-provoking and insightful work that remains relevant to contemporary discussions about the relationship between religion and politics. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
