Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Discovery of the Northwest Passage, 1850-1854 is a historical account written by Robert John Le Mesurier McClure. The book chronicles McClure's journey to discover the elusive Northwest Passage, a sea route through the Arctic Ocean connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. The expedition was sponsored by the British Admiralty and took place between 1850 and 1854. McClure and his crew sailed on the HMS Investigator, which became trapped in the ice for two winters. They were eventually rescued by a team led by Captain Richard Collinson, who had sailed on the HMS Enterprise. The book provides a detailed account of the challenges faced by the crew, including harsh weather conditions, difficult terrain, and encounters with indigenous people. It also includes descriptions of the geography, flora, and fauna of the Arctic region. The Discovery of the Northwest Passage, 1850-1854 is a valuable historical document that sheds light on the exploration of the Arctic and the search for a navigable route to the Pacific. From The Logs And Journals Of Captain Robert Le M.
