Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""A Subaltern's Share in the War: Some Letters of the Late George Weston Devenish"" is a collection of letters written by George Weston Devenish, a subaltern in the British Army during World War I. The book was published in 1917, just one year after Devenish was killed in action on the Western Front. The letters provide a firsthand account of the war, including descriptions of battles, life in the trenches, and the camaraderie among soldiers. Devenish's writing is often lighthearted and humorous, but also reveals the hardships and horrors of war. The book offers a unique perspective on the war from a young soldier's point of view and serves as a tribute to those who fought and died in the conflict. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
