Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""Among Boers and Basutos"" is a memoir written by Fanny A. Barkly in 1894. The book details her experiences living on the frontier of South Africa during the late 19th century. Barkly and her husband, Sir Henry Barkly, served as British colonial administrators in the region, where they encountered a diverse array of people, including the Boers (Dutch settlers) and the Basutos (an ethnic group native to the area). The book provides a vivid description of the landscape, customs, and politics of the region, as well as the challenges and dangers that Barkly faced as a woman living in a remote and often volatile area. Throughout the book, Barkly offers insights into the complex relationships between the various groups living in the region, as well as the broader political and economic forces shaping their lives. ""Among Boers and Basutos"" is a fascinating and informative account of a little-known chapter in South African history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
