Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Some people say life is a journey. Others say life is hell. For author Annie B. her life has been a journey through hell-one from which she emerged with physical and emotional scars. Her reward for marrying while young and trusting was years of physical abuse, including her husband killing one of their children. Strike one! Her trust in answering a loud knock at her door resulted in rape and pregnancy, but later losing the baby. Strike two! Then Annie endured suffering and treatment for breast cancer. Strike three! With strike three, there was no "out" for Annie B. She endured strikes four, five, and six by marrying her second husband. What he couldn't express with words, he expressed with his fists. By the time Annie was thirty, her best friends were hospital emergency room doctors and staff. But Annie emerged stronger from each and every trauma. In The Life I Was Dealt, Annie B. shares the excruciating pain of extreme abuse and the hopelessness of being trapped. Among these stories, though, Annie's perseverance, humor, and love for life shine. Despite her traumas, Annie has spent her life helping others. Her story will inspire others to fight their own demons.
