Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

This vintage book contains a complete guide to hawks and hawking, with information on selection, feeding, care and management, training, breeding, and more. This detailed and timeless handbook is highly recommended for modern readers with a practical interest in the subject, and would make for a great addition to collections of antiquarian sporting literature. Contents include: "How to make a Short-Winged Hawke Good, with Good Conditions", "How to Reclaime a Hawke from any Ill Condition", "Teacheth Cures for all Knowne griefes and Diseases". "The Description of the Rammish Hawke", "A Pre-admonition to the Reader", "To reclaime a Hawke that will carry a Partridge into a Tree", etcetera. Many antiquarian texts such as this, especially those dating back to the 1900s and before, are increasingly hard to come by and expensive, and it is with this in mind that we are republishing this book now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition. It comes complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author. This book was first published in 1891.
