Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Fourteen-year-old Annie Spring is radiant with life. As she charges through her teens in the midst of the chaotic 1970s, she is thrilled to have found true love with Dan, a high school sophomore. But her world changes forever when she suddenly discovers she is pregnant-an unacceptable outcome for a young, unwed woman. While Annie attempts to deal with her growing crisis, she grapples with the adults in her life who are, in some cases, no better equipped than she is to deal with such a complex problem. Looking for the emotional support that she desperately needs, she could turn to mother, whose greatest desire is to be abducted by extraterrestrials; her wise and logical-to-a-fault dad; or her sex-addicted friend. Annie is forced to grow up fast, wondering if Dan will stand by her side or leave her-and her new reputation-to fend for herself. One way or the other, Annie will survive. Some thirty-five years later, when Annie takes an introspective journey into her past, she comes to a life-altering realization and a new destiny.
