Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Former columnist for The Boston Globe Leigh Montville shares the inspiring biography of Manute Bol, a 7’7” Dinka tribesman recruited into fame by the Philadelphia 76ers.At the time he entered the NBA, Minute Bol was the tallest man ever to play professional basketball. Standing at 7’7”, he could dunk a ball without even leaving the floor. But his life was not always one of the glamour and fame that comes with playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.Born in a village in the south of Sudan, Bol left a primitive culture with strict patriarchy rules and no written language and traveled to the high-tech, glitzy arenas of the NBA. In this dazzling debut, Leigh Montville takes readers through Manute’s wildly disparate worlds.
