It names 107 places across 176 dated entries.The diary opens at Aldershot on 4 August 1914. 1914 is the most travelled year, 63 places against 20 in the next busiest, and is spent at Bulford, Braine, Noote-Boom, Dickebusch and Berthen. 1915 is spent at St Quentin, Sec-Bois, Bleve-Tour, Grand Manillet and Volkerinckhove. 1916 at Grand Manillet, Le Titre, Dernancourt, Merris and Torte Fontaine. 1917 at Torte Fonteine, Boucly, Bucley, Le Planty Ferm Auxi Le Chateau and Le Planty Ferme Auxi Le Chateau. 1918 at Lefaux, Inchy, Baralle, Dieval and Menil Favay. 1919 at Awan and Ensival. It closes at Ensival on 31 March 1919. Grand Manillet is where it spent longest, 132 days across three separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 91 and it came back to St Quentin five separate times.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Le Planty Ferm Auxi Le Chateau, Le Planty Ferme Auxi Le Chateau and Auxi Le Chateau.In 1914 it is also recorded at Tidworth, Southampton, Pont-De-Bruges Camp, Boulogne, Maubeuge, Obreiches, Vallenciennes, Solemes, Sulemes and Le Cateau. In 1915 it is also recorded at Dohem, Clety, Inghem, Hondighem, Mametz, Monchy, Lozingham, Ferfay, Norrent Fontes and Rombly. In 1916 it is also recorded at G.D.
