Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps 9 Mobile Veterinary Section, Divisional Troops, 2nd Cavalry Division, covering March 1916 to April 1919 across 911 pages. It names 132 places across 166 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries two reports, narratives and plans and one appendix. Among the papers are: No.4 Mobile Veterinary Section A.V.C. orders for N.C.O. i/c Conduction Party; Instructions to N.c.o. Abandoning a Horse.The diary opens at Lottinghem on 1 March 1916. 1916 is the most travelled year, 106 places against 28 in the next busiest, and is spent at Nabringhem, Neuf Berquin, New 24 Horses 32, Personnel 28 Horses 31 and Personnel 23 Horses 30. 1917 is spent at Monchaux, Vacquerie Le Boucq Near Frevent, Dessart Wood, New 26 Horses 45 and Brusle. 1918 at Recques, Humber Court, Laroche, Flagothier and Caudry. 1919 at Flagothier Esneav, Flagothier Esneux, Verviers and Flaqothier. It closes at Verviers on 28 April 1919. Recques is where it spent longest, 56 days across three separate stays, it came back to Humber Court four separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Monchaux.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Dessart Wood.In 1916 it is also recorded at Interpreter 1, Nco's 4, Men 21, Total 27, Horses 35, Personnel 27 Horses 51, Horses 51, Personnel 24, 3 Men To Base and Personnel 26 Horses 36. In 1917 it is also recorded at New 26 Horses 43, Vironchaux, Bretencourt, Pas To Mirvaux, Brvsle, Boubers S/Canche and Sains-En Amienois. In 1918 it is also recorded at Capelle, Vron, St Ricquier, La Chaussee, Aubercourt, Monidee, La Boisle, Basseux, Bihucourt and Noyelles. In 1919 it is also recorded at Flagothier and Esneux.
