It names 78 places across 125 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries six appendices.The diary opens at Vieux-Berquin on 23 April 1915. 1915 is spent at St Martin D'Hardinghem, Roquetoire West, La Nieppe and Quiestede. 1916 at St Martin D'Hardinghem, Hazebrouck, Dompierre, Lumbres and Lahoussoye. 1917 at Dompierre, Houvigneul, Roisel, St Sauflieu and Quevauvillers. 1918 is the most travelled year, 43 places against 24 in the next busiest, and is spent at Alette, Mondicourt, Quevauvillers, Athies and Bomy. 1919 at Theux and Heusy. It closes at Heusy on 31 March 1919. St Martin D'Hardinghem is where it spent longest, 199 days across eight separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 33 days at Bomy.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Auxi Le Chateau.In 1915 it is also recorded at Roquetoire.
