It names 108 places across 131 dated entries.The diary opens at Woolwich on 3 October 1914. 1914 is spent at Hondghem, Vlamertinghe Ypres, Zeelebeke, S'Hampton and Dunkirque. 1915 at Verdure, Wardrecque, Hondeghem, Cinqrues and Fauquembergues. 1916 at Planques, Hucqueliers, Avesnes, Bellevue and Corbie. 1917 at Cucq, Rue de Guarbecques, Bours, Tortefontaine and Franqueville. 1918 is the most travelled year, 43 places against 21 in the next busiest, and is spent at Vien, St Ouen, Trefcon, Fransu and Bertincourt. 1919 at Engis, Amay and Nandrin. It closes at Engis on 31 May 1919. Planques is where it spent longest, 104 days, including a single unbroken stay of 104 and it came back to Hondeghem six separate times.In 1914 it is also recorded at Portsmouth, Bruges, Gastrelles, Foures, Boulogne, Castre, Ypres, Strazeele, Hazebrouk and Hondeghem. In 1915 it is also recorded at Poperinghe, La Brearde, Caudescure, Renescure, Hazebrouk, Westrehem, Le Nieppe and Fauquemberge. In 1916 it is also recorded at Le Plouy, L'Heure, Wanel, Oissy, Drugy, Arcoules, Naintenay, Brailly, Yzeux and La Neuville. In 1917 it is also recorded at Beauvainville, Roads, Frohen Le Grand, Newbury, Fouilloy, Cerisy, NE of Buire, Suzanne, Berles and Halametens of Lalonne en Lalonne Robelq Road. In 1918 it is also recorded at Mereaucourt, St Christ, Carlepont, Choisy au Back, Sains En Amenois, Bours, Montigny, Belloy Sur Somme, St Owen and Ouen.
