It names 113 places across 281 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries ten reports, narratives and plans, twenty-five Operation Orders, one appendix and two maps. Among the papers are: Relief 22nd/23rd May; Reliefs 23rd/24th May 1917; Relief Table issued with Whom Cavalry Brigade order No.9 of 14th June 1817; Relief Table issued with 4th Dismounted Brigade operation order On. 9; Appendix "A" to Mhow Cavalry Brigade order No. 14; March Table. issued with Mhow Cavalry Brigade order No. 17; 4th Dismounted Brigade. special order; Orders for raid night of 1/2 July 17; Report on the operation of "C" Squadron, Inniskilling Dragoons, on Decr. 1st 1917.The diary opens at Offeux on 31 December 1916. 1916 is spent at Offeux. 1917 is the most travelled year, 184 places against 54 in the next busiest, and is spent at Ennemain, Athies, Escarbotin, Sarton and St. Christ. 1918 at Ennemain, Athies, Courcelles, Selincourt and Fresnoy-au-Val. It closes at Tel El Kebir on 31 March 1918. Ennemain is where it spent longest, 788 days across 44 separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 66 days at Vadencourt.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Cote Wood, Carpeza Copse, Gd Priel Wood, Na. Asscension Farm, Dessart wood, Trenches Na Ascension Farm, Vaux Wood and Quesnoy Farm.In 1917 it is also recorded at Molliens Aux-Bois, Belloy Sur Mer, Nibas, Longpre, Toeufles, Sallenelle, Lancheres, Friville, Havernas Albert and Albert. In 1918 it is also recorded at Marcelcave, Molliens Vidame, Cote Wood, The Egg, N. E. Avilleret, Villeret, Guillaucourt, Bayonvillers, Wiencourt and Guignemicourt.
