It names 46 places across 114 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries two casualty and personnel returns, 33 reports, narratives and plans, 63 Operation Orders, nine appendices, nineteen maps and three diagrams. Among the papers are: Statement of casualties for the Period night of 12/13th to night of 16/17th September 1915; Narrative of operations of Lucknow Cavalry Brigade; Narrative of operations At Hooge North of Menin Road; Report on operations 9th, 10th and 11th January 1915; Instructions; Divisional orders No.7; Divisional orders No.10; Instructions for operations Commencing 14th December 1914; March Table to Accompany operation order No.16; Instructions to Accompany operation order No.16; Movement Table issued with Indian Cavalry Corps operation order No.8; Table issued with Indian Cavalry Corps operation order No.10.The diary opens at Bombay on 9 October 1914. 1914 is spent at Lozinghem, S.S Ballarat, Marseilles, Orleans and Bombay. 1915 is the most travelled year, 33 places against 20 in the next busiest, and is spent at Norrent Fontes, Roquetoire, Lequesnoy, Lemeillard and Domart-En-Ponthieu. 1916 at Dargnies, Lecauroy, Villers Chatel, Ligescourt and St Valery Sur Somme. It closes at St Valery Sur Somme on 31 December 1916. Dargnies is where it spent longest, 101 days across four separate stays, it came back to Morlancourt nine separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Roquetoire.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Wood E. N.E Forceville.In 1914 it is also recorded at Hinges, Bourecq and Norrent Fontes. In 1915 it is also recorded at Bois Des Dames N.E of Marles, Marles, Bourecq, Enquin, St Marie Cappel, Watou, Allouagne, Staple, Rubrouck and Brandhoek. In 1916 it is also recorded at Wail, Yvrench, Doullens, Auxi-Le-Chateau, Frohen-Legrand, St Riquier, Allonville, Morlancourt, Montauban and Bussy-Les-Daours.
