It names 43 places across 71 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries nine reports, narratives and plans, three Operation Orders and 156 appendices. Among the papers are: Appendix II report on Billets in Marseilles; Appendix a order C B Bourecq; App I report on 1st Indian Cavalry Division Supply Column, Inspected on 12/13th May 1915; Administrative instructions issued in accordance with "G". Appx II; Administrative Instructions. the following changes will take place in billeting areas; Divisional orders. 4th Cavalry Division.The diary opens at Bombay on 16 October 1914. 1914 is spent at Norrent Fontes, Lozinghem, Morsvilles and Berguette & Lillers. 1915 is the most travelled year, 24 places against 17 in the next busiest, and is spent at Roquetoire, Le Quesnoy, Domart, Norrent Fontes and Enquin. 1916 at Dargnies, St Valery, Le Cauroy, Villers Chatel and Ligescourt. It closes at St Valery on 31 December 1916. Dargnies is where it spent longest, 82 days across four separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 32 days at Norrent Fontes.In 1914 it is also recorded at Aire, Berguette, Bourecq and Norrent. In 1915 it is also recorded at Marles, Bourecq, St Marie Cappel, Watou, Roquetoire Allouagne, Roquetoire Staple, Staple Rubrouck, Reninghelst Roubrouck, Rubrouck and Rocquetoire. In 1916 it is also recorded at Wail, Yvrench, Doullens, Auxi-Le-Chateau, Frohen Le Grand, St Riquier, Allonville, Morlancourt, Bussy Les Daours and Picquigny.
