It names 94 places across 118 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries four reports, narratives and plans and three appendices. Among the papers are: 2nd Division Standing orders for War. Section IX. Veterinary; Orders 2nd Division; Draft Routine order 19.8.14.; 1st Army Corps Routine Orders..The diary opens at Aldershot on 6 August 1914. 1914 is spent at Bourg, Ypres, Aldershot, Hazebrouck and Wassigny. 1915 at Bethune, Lacon, Gosnay, La Beuvriere and Vaudricourt. 1916 at Camblain L'Abbee, Bethune, Brailly, Sains-En Gohelle and Busnes. 1917 at Locon, Albert, Bouzincourt, La Benurise and Ourton. 1918 at Bavincourt, Bezique Wood, Etricourt, Mory and Duren. 1919 at Ohligs, Harff, Duren and Dormagan. It closes at Ohligs on 31 October 1919. Bethune is where it spent longest, 211 days across eight separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 107 days at Ohligs.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Bezique Wood, Chateau De La Haie, Chateau Bilbardot Pierrelevee and Oulchy Le Chateau.In 1914 it is also recorded at Havre, Maroilles, Pont-Sur Sambre, La Samlonier, Audignies, Etreux, La Fere, Servais, Soissons and Laversine. In 1915 it is also recorded at Abbeville, Choux and Busnes. In 1916 it is also recorded at Bruay, La Comte, Chateau De La Haie, Bertrancourt and Marieux. In 1917 it is also recorded at Marieux, Bertrancourt, Varennes, Puchvillers, Pernes, Beugin, Haute Avesnes, Maroeuil, Roclincourt and Haplincourt. In 1918 it is also recorded at Puchvillers, Yrevent, Coutarelle, Humbercamp, Bezique, Pommier, Douchy Les Ayette, Eroillen, Flesquiers and Doignes. In 1919 it is also recorded at Duren Germany.
