Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 41 Brigade Royal Field Artillery, Divisional Troops, 2nd Division, covering August 1914 to December 1916 across 485 pages. It names 73 places across 84 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries one report or narrative, one Operation Order, four appendices, six maps and eight diagrams. Among the papers are: Statement, Orderly Officer, XXXVI Bde. R.F.A. (18-pdrs.).The diary opens at Bordon on 4 August 1914. 1914 is the most travelled year, 54 places against 12 in the next busiest, and is spent at Meteren, Bordon, Eksternest, St. Mard and Vieil Arcy. 1915 is spent at Cambrin, Le Touret, Annequin, Colincamps and Richebourg. 1916 at Vimy, Bealcourt, Montauban, Colincamps and Shilly. It closes at Bealcourt on 31 December 1916. Cambrin is where it spent longest, 86 days across four separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Meteren.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Oulchy Le Chateau.In 1914 it is also recorded at Southampton, Havre, Vaux, La Grand Verly, La Bosse Mavoilles, La Longueoihe, Givret, Hareul, Malgarui and Lauodecies. In 1915 it is also recorded at Hinges, Le Plantin, Lieres, Le Brebis, 17th Batt, 9th Batt and 16th Batt. In 1916 it is also recorded at Y.R.W.W. Menoel Posted To Bde, Bus Les Artois and Amplier.
