It names 232 places across 313 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries three reports, narratives and plans, two Operation Orders, two maps and one diagram. Among the papers are: Report on raid on enemy Salient in?. 13. by 1/R. Berks Regt. 99th Infantry Brigade At 3; Artillery Programme for Raid. on 4th/5th February; 1st Battn Royal Berkshire Regt. report on operation from 21-31/3/18.The diary opens at Bellerive on 1 January 1916. 1916 is spent at Couin, Bellerive, Divion, Conteville & Bernatre and Oneux. 1917 at Billets Auchel, Front Line Trenches Cambrin Right, Annequin, Billets Herzeele and Billets Beuvry. 1918 at Front Line Boiry-St-Martin, Billets Barastre, Synopis and Front Line Lavacquerie Right. It closes at Arnolds Weiler on 31 December 1918. Billets Auchel is where it spent longest, 29 days, including a single unbroken stay of 25 and it came back to Front Line Boiry-St-Martin five separate times.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Front Line Trenches Cambrin Right, Roclincourt Trenches, Calverley Copse Near Ayette, W of Nine Wood, Reserve Trenches Behind Arleux, Support Trench, Mansel Copse and Close Support Trenches Arleux Oppy.In 1916 it is also recorded at Hingille, Hrineetie-Letouret, Le Touret and C2 Subsection, C 2 Subsection, Essars, Givenchy B2 Sub Sec, Lequesnoy, Village Line, Hingette and Bourecq. In 1917 it is also recorded at Fienvillers, Sarton, Raincheval, Bouzincourt, Ovillers, Coorcelette, Aveluy, Courcelette, Bruce Huts Aveluy and Pozieres Camp. In 1918 it is also recorded at Front Line Canal Du Nord, Billets Metz-En-Couture, Support Villers Plouich, Front Line-La Vacquerie, Billets Manancourt, Brigade Reserve Havrincourt Wood And Villers Plouich, Divnl Reserve Metz, Metz, Brigade Support Villers Plouich and Divisional Reserve Metz.
