Brigade. order No. 9.The diary opens at Ailly-Le Haut-Clocher on 1 January 1916. 1916 is the most travelled year, 94 places against 21 in the next busiest, and is spent at Bertrancourt, Bailleulval, Ailly-Le Haut-Clocher, Bouillancourt and Colincamps. 1917 is spent at Sailly Laurette, Orlencourt, Vaulx, Suzanne and N.E. Of St Nicholas. It closes at Forestier Redoubt on 30 April 1917. Bertrancourt is where it spent longest, 39 days across three separate stays, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Ailly-Le Haut-Clocher.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Guillemont Dug Outs, Mouchoir Copse, Canal Bank & Trenches, Bedford House Trenches, Billon Wood Bronfay, Billon Wood, Forestier Redoubt and Bedford Hse & Trenches.In 1916 it is also recorded at Ailly, Halloy-Les-Pernois, Puchevillers, Acheux, Mailly, Grenas, Bouquemaison, Remaisnil, Balleulval and Sus St Leger. In 1917 it is also recorded at Bray, Corbie, Villers Bocage, Beauval, Remaisnil, Y Huts Etrun, St Nicholas, Railway Embarkment Of Athies, Athies and Montenescourt.
