It names 104 places across 135 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries one casualty and personnel return, nine reports, narratives and plans, six Operation Orders, eight appendices, one map and five diagrams. Among the papers are: Casualties on 1st July 1916 officers; Raid by Lancs. Fus. on night 15/16th November; Report on operations carried out by 2nd Bn Lancashire Fusiliers on October 23rd 1916; Operation orders 2nd Bn Lancashire Fusiliers; Copy of raid orders; Operation order Lan Fus; Raid orders 2nd Bn Lancashire Fusiliers; Appendix (1) report of the operations on Oct 12th; Appendix B Time Table of Creeping & Protective Barrages; Addition to operation orders issued 29-3-17.The diary opens at Maieneville on 1 January 1917. 1917 is the most travelled year, 77 places against 50 in the next busiest, and is spent at Penin, Ostreville, Camp 124 and Vaulx. 1918 is spent at Riez Du Vinage, L'Ecleme, St Saulve, Bernville and Magnicourt. 1919 at Lahestre. It closes at Lahestre on 28 February 1919. Lahestre is where it spent longest, 56 days, including a single unbroken stay of 56 and it came back to L'Ecleme eight separate times.Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Trenches Close Support, Front Trenches Left Sub, Front Trench Left Sub, Himalaya Trench, Left Subsector Front Trenches, Junction Wood and Trenches.In 1917 it is also recorded at Suzanne Bouchauesnes, Right Sub, Oisemont, Left Front, Trenches Close Support, Junction Wood, Front Trenches Left Sub, Arras, Left Sub and Fregicourt Bde Reserve. In 1918 it is also recorded at Field Bernaville, Arras, Lemon Tr. Bde Support, Line Lemon Tr, Line Fampoux Sector Arras, Simencourt, Eblinghem, Les Harisoirs, Pacaut Wd La Pannerie and Le Cauroy.
